Bleeding Risk Assessment: Pre-analytical Aspects Webinar

The first webinar of the series two around "Bleeding Risk Assessment" discusses the importance of pre-analytics and potential interference and implications for clinical management as well as how to mitigate these effects for assays applicable to bleeding disorders.

Describe how patient variables and sample preparation impact pre-analytic variables

Dr. John Mitsios has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Ioannina, Greece and is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the San Diego-California School of Medicine. His main research interest has been coagulation, with an emphasis on the laboratory diagnosis of bleeding disorders. He was a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College as an assistant professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, as well as an assistant clinical chemist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently, he was deputy director of the Specialty Coagulation Laboratory at BioReference Laboratories and co-author of 20 peer-reviewed articles and 3 book chapters. Currently, he is a Senior Clinical Hemostasis Consultant at Siemens Healthineers.
