Hardware Components Hardware Components Select each arrow to learn about the hardware components on the Biograph Trinion. Gantry Connector Box: The Gantry Connector box is a key locked box, located at the right side of the gantry stand. This box houses 2 USB interfaces and the On/Off switch. Remote Scan Control: The system is equipped with a convenient wired remote scan control featuring keys for gantry and patient table control. This wired remote scan control is securely fixed to the front of the gantry for easy access. For added flexibility, optional wireless remote scan controls are available, enabling you to conveniently unload the patient while moving from the control room to the examination room. Hover over each button to learn more. Scan&GO Tablet: The Scan&GO application on the tablet enables you to perform basic workflows within the examination room. It is synchronized with the syngo Acquisition Workplace. Data is communicated wirelessly to the system. It also allows for the user to manually register a patient, choose a patient from the schedule, choose a protocol for the examination, change the patient position on the table, and modify some protocol parameters. The Scan&GO tablet does not allow the user to initiate a scan. The Scan&GO tablet enables a simplified usability concept based on visual logic for easy and undisrupted operation. The user can follow the guided GO path. eSTOP/X-Ray Light: The eSTOP and X-ray indicator light are located on both the front and rear of the gantry. The indicator lights up yellow and a warning signal sounds when radiation is being generated. Patient Communication: The communication system allows you to talk with the patient and play prerecorded Automatic Patient Instructions in a selected language. The automated audio message is intended to provide an indication about delay due to table movement from the CT FOV to the PET FOV, instruction for normal breathing, and extraction of the table out of the PET FoV to the patient unload position. It consists of a speaker and a microphone that enable you to talk with the patient. You can operate the intercom with the keys on the control box. 2D Camera: A 2D video camera is mounted at the back of the gantry above the tunnel. The 2D Camera displays a live image of the patient on the monitor in the control room. The live image helps you to observe the patient while moving the patient table into the gantry. Ask the patient in advance if it is okay to turn on the camera. If the patient requests it, you can turn off the 2D Camera. Gantry Moodlighting: Moodlighting is available for the gantry tunnel to create a more enjoyable experience for the patient. To configure the moodlight, see the General settings tab within the Scan&GO application on the tablet. For more information regarding Scan&GO, refer to the Scan&GO Instructions for Use. Patient Table: The patient table is a table-on-rails design for full-body imaging of a patient. The patient table supports 272 kg, or 600 lbs. The reinforced table is positioned on a pedestal that slides on floor-mounted rails. Horizontal and vertical table positioning can be achieved using the motion control system on the front of the gantry. The standard maximum co-scan range is system dependent. Table-positioning buttons allow you to adjust the table height and move the table in and out of the gantry. When moving the patient table, you can use the keys on the following control device – the Control Box and the Remote Scan Control. UPMM: The Universal Physiological Measurement Module is located near the pedestal end of the patient table. The UPMM provides the receptacle for the ECG electrodes. It provides a single connection point for both CT and PET cardiac gating as well as a connection for an external trigger device. The UPMM moves with the patient, which promotes patient comfort and reduces the risk of lead entanglement. Paper Roll Holder: The optional Paper Roll Holder is integrated into the Patient Table for a fast, clean surface setup. Paper Roll Holder Integrated paper roll holder for a fast, clean surface setup. Schedule: Maintenance and service work should be performed by Siemens Healthineers Service, except for the cleaning of the equipment and replacement of air filters and accessories. Gantry filter replacement should occur approximately every 6 months, the interval can vary between 3 to 12 months according to needs. The system owner, operator, or clinical user can and should carry out this task. Full system maintenance is performed every 12 months by a qualified and authorized engineer. CT Air Filter: There are two CT system air filters at the top left and bottom right of the gantry back. If the air filter is dirty, it might lead to the system overheating. The door of the filter is closed with magnets, so you can exchange the filter pads on your own without tools. You will receive a notification when it is time to change the air filter. First, open the filter door, then remove the old filter pad. Clean the grid, for example with a vacuum cleaner, then place a new filter pad on the grid. Finally, close the door. It is forbidden to use the gantry without replacing the filter. If the filter pad is not very dirty, cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner is sufficient. PET Air Filter: There is one PET system air filter located on the side of the back of the gantry. First, open the filter door, then remove the old filter pad. Clean the grid, for example with a vacuum cleaner, then place a new filter pad on the grid. Finally, close the door.
