This online training will provide an overview of the features and functionality of the Siemens Healthineers User Interface for the Biograph Trinion PET/CT system. This course will cover the following five learning objectives. For navigation help, select the question mark button located in the corner of each slide. ? Biograph Trinion™ VK10 Biograph Trinion VK10 Biograph Trinion PET/CT with myExam Companion. Future-forward by design. ? Home Screen The Home Screen is the entry point to the system. From here you can launch tasks, perform system checks, lock the screen, and shut down or restart the system. Hover over each icon. Home Screen The Home Screen is the entry point to the system. However, this course will navigate the user interface with the standard single monitor configuration. The Home Screen toolbar can be accessed from any screen within the examination workflow. Toolbar The buttons on the Home Screen Toolbar can be accessed from any page or workflow. Lock …locks the screen to prevent unauthorized access. Open Tasks …is only visible on the Home Screen only when an open maintenance task exists. Clicking the Open Task tile will display the Open Task List at the bottom right of the screen. A maximum of four items can be displayed without scrolling down the list. If a task on the list if overdue, the user will also get an on-screen notification. Once in the Examination or System Check screen, the Open Tasks icon can be selected from the status bar at the bottom right of the screen. Restart …will initiate a Full System Restart except for the CT and PET gantries. System Check …initiates the daily quality assurance needed before performing patient examinations. More details on the System Check tile will be provided later in the course. Examination …opens the Scheduler to manage and execute patient exams. More details on the Examination tile will be provided later in the course. ? Home Screen Toolbar Select the Toolbar. Home Screen Toolbar Select the Toolbar in the top right. ? Home Screen Toolbar Select each icon in the toolbar. Home Screen Toolbar Select each icon in the toolbar to learn more. User Icon: The User icon allows you to change the user logged into the system. Settings Menu: The Settings menu allows the user to access various options. Select the individual options below to learn more about them. There are several other options to explore on your own in the list like screen recorder and create screenshot. Remote Assist: The Remote Assist icon allows the user to receive assistance via the Regional Support Center or Education team remotely. After contacting the RSC, a Siemens Healthineers expert will ask you to activate the remote assist option and provide you a special code which allows the RSC expert to securely and remotely view your screen. Help: The Help icon will activate the online help which is content specific meaning it will display the online help library for topics that are active at the time of selection. File Browser The File Browser is used to access any files on the system such as screenshots or SaveLogs. Exam Designer The Exam Designer allows the user to build and modify protocols. MI Quality Assurance Quality Assurance for both PET and CT allows for the user to run the CT QA and PET QA functions individually which include CT Checkup, CT Daily, CT Calibration, and MI Quality Assurance. Clinical Configuration Clinical Configuration allows you modify settings like MI Dose Activity and adding new radiopharmaceuticals as well as MI windowing and CT Dose Notifications. This is an alternate way of accessing clinical configuration in addition to going through the Administration Portal. Administration Portal The Administration Portal is used to configure more in-depth settings on your system such as network nodes, quality assurance sources and schedule, and clinical configurations. Configuration Panel The Configuration Panel allows you to modify the workplace to your individual needs. Help Content specific online help is available from the question mark icon. Please note: F1 on the keyboard will open the Online Help Library displaying content specific to the current window. Remote Assist Allows the user to receive assistance via the Regional Support Center or Education remotely. User Icon Displays which user is logged in. ? ToolTips ToolTips is a helpful feature that allows users to hover over a menu item, icon, tile, or button and get further details about the item’s functionality or it’s intended use. It displays information on the system status and time. Other icons are only visible in the case of system notifications. Status Bar The status bar displays the time as well as information about the system. It can be viewed at the bottom right of any screen within the user interface. In the event of low disk space, the icon will turn yellow and then red. Delete old images to free up disk space. System capacity is represented by four icons in the Status Bar. The MARS Storage, ICS Storage, Image Space Partition, and ICS Storage. By hovering over the four icons the storage capacity is displayed in the ToolTip for each of the icons. ? Examination Select Examination. Examination Select the Examination tile. System Check To ensure the system is ready to be used, the system provides a check procedure through System Check. System Check can be initiated from the Home Screen or from the Settings Menu, then selecting System Check. If there is a green check on the System Check tile, then everything is complete, and the system is ready for use. If there is a yellow exclamation point, there are tasks to be completed but the system is still usable. If there is a red X, there are tasks that must be completed prior to using the system for patient examinations. Select the tile to be taken to the System Check page. ? This connection is set-up by your local service personnel. SaveLog: With the help of SaveLog, Siemens Healthineers Service can investigate the system health, check for errors, and troubleshoot the system. The log files include various details about your system including information about an affected component, timestamp, and message details. To create a SaveLog, select SaveLog from the settings menu. This will open a dialog box. Enter a description of the error. Select the “Attach Screenshot” box. This will attach a screenshot of the system and then click Run SaveLog. Protocol Selection The syngo Acquisition Workplace is the space utilized when conducting a scan. After the patient has been registered or selected in the Scheduler or Exam is clicked, the protocol selection can begin. ? Protocol Selection Select the PET Scan Protocol. Protocol Selection A scan protocol contains the scan and reconstruction parameters. The Taskflow Control area displays the protocol name and the examination tasks in chronological order. Additionally, there are two tabs, Protocol Selection and Protocol Parameters. The Protocol Selection tab provides an overview of important details for selecting the appropriate protocol for the current examination. ? Protocol Selection Select the Browse Protocols section. Protocol Selection There are three main sections on the Protocol Selection tab: Browse Protocols, Protocol Preview Area, and the Physiological Signal Area. ? Protocol Selection Select the PET Scan Protocol. Protocol Selection The browse protocols section consists of the search area and patient model area. In the search area, you can search for a selection of scan protocols for the current patient. Protocols that match the search criteria are displayed in the protocol preview area. The patient model area has an Adult and Child tab with folder buttons as well as standard and vascular body regions for each body type. Selecting a body region displays the CT only protocols that are available for the selected body region in the protocol preview area. In the patient model area, the Folder buttons represent groups of special protocols that are stored within the protocol folders. This is where the PET/CT protocols are located. Default Siemens Healthineers protocols are available for each standard scan workflow. ? Protocol Selection Select the Physiological Signal area. Protocol Selection The selected folder appears highlighted and open. ? Protocol Selection Select Protocol Parameters. Protocol Selection The Physiological Signal area either displays an ECG or breathing curve. The ECG curve is displayed when the patient has electrodes applied and an ECG signal is available. If a cardiac protocol is loaded, the ECG curve is always displayed. The protocol preview area displays the preselection of protocols based on the current filter settings and search criteria. The protocol preview area includes the following elements, specific to each protocol: Protocol description, list of scan ranges within the selected protocol, and reconstruction icons. Within the list of scan ranges, if Topogram is selected to be scanned, it is indicated with a check mark on the left. The check can be cleared and then no Topogram is performed. The Add button adds the protocol currently selected in the protocol preview area to the protocol assignment. Additional protocols can be added, and the examination task will be listed at the bottom of the Taskflow Control area. The Replace button replaces all currently assigned examination tasks with what is currently selected in the protocol preview area. This only applies if the scan has not begun. ? Protocol Selection Select Scan Favorites. Protocol Selection The Protocol Parameters tab is utilized if the selected protocol needs to be modified before starting the exam. In the Category Button area, the protocol parameters are divided into different groups. The scan parameters are found on the top row and the reconstruction parameters are on the bottom row. Select a category button to view that category’s group of parameters in the parameter panel area. ? Protocol Selection Select Save. Protocol Selection The parameter panel area displays the parameter settings for the currently selected protocol. From here, you can modify the parameters as needed. The background color of the modified parameter will change as well as all dependent parameters. If the background becomes green, the new parameter is valid. If the background becomes yellow, the new setting is invalid and must be corrected before continuing. Scan Favorites and Recon Favorites allow for the customization of the most commonly viewed parameters into the favorites groups. To do this, right click on the parameter name from the parameters panel area and select either add to “Scan Favorites” or add to “Recon Favorites”. To remove the parameter from the Favorites Group, first select Scan Favorites or Recon Favorites then right click on the parameter and select “Remove Column from Favorites”. Users with Clinical Administrator access can save the modified protocol. To do this, select Save from the Protocol task to overwrite the current protocol or select Save As to create a new protocol. ? Protocol Selection Select Exam Designer. Protocol Selection To modify several protocols at once, it is recommended to use Exam Designer from the Settings Menu. ? Protocol Selection Once the desired protocols are selected and confirmed on the Taskflow Control area, select OK to apply the protocol. ? Protocol Selection Select Confirm to complete the Protocol Section and return to Examination. Protocol Selection After verifying the selected patient position is correct, select Confirm to begin the examination in the syngo Acquisition Workplace. Patient Position Area: Displays current patient position and position control icons. Scheduler ? Scheduler Scheduler The PETsyngo Workplace enables you to manage patient and procedure data throughout the entire life cycle: from planning procedures to managing studies. The workplace consists of two parts, the Scheduler and the Patient Browser. The Scheduler allows you to find and plan procedures as well as start the examination workflow from the scanner workplace. On single monitor systems you can toggle between the Scheduler and Patient Browser using the icons. On dual monitor systems, the Scheduler is on the left monitor and the Patient Browser is on the right monitor. ? Scheduler Select each of the 4 main areas. Select the “X” to complete the Scheduler and return to Examination. Scheduler Patients can be registered manually from this screen or imported from the HIS/RIS. The Patient List, Search Area, Toolbar, and Patient Registration are the four main areas of the Scheduler workplace. Patient List: The Patient List displays the available procedure data and patient data. The Refresh Icon updates the Patient List with the most up-to-date patients. The View selection icon toggles between the patient view and procedure view. Patient view displays procedures according to patient name. Procedure view displays each procedure separately. If a patient has more than one procedure, each will be listed as a separate entry. The column headers of the Patient List allow the worklist to be sorted by Patient ID, name, or date of birth, Procedure description, or procedure time and date. The default worklist is scheduled patients for today. This can be modified by selecting the filter icon next to the Patient column header. Search Area: The Search Area enables you to search for procedures and corresponding patient data within the Patient List. After typing in the search area, click the search icon or press enter on the keyboard to populate the matching patient and procedure data in the Patient List. Toolbar: The Toolbar on the right of the screen displays icons that provide access to start the requested procedure, or Exam, on the currently selected patient, create an Emergency Patient, register a patient, add an examination to the selected patient, or delete a procedure. Patient Registration: The Patient Registration tab of the scheduler allows you to view and correct patient data. All mandatory fields are marked by an asterisk. The required inputs include: Last Name, Patient ID, Date of Birth, and Weight. Exam information is also located here and contains the requested procedure description, accession number, procedure ID, and a comment field. To edit the procedure description for a patient, select the procedure from the Patient List and modify under Exam Information. Click Save to keep any changes, Cancel to undo any changes, or Delete to delete the procedure listed for the current patient. The Local Data button opens studies belonging to the selected patient on the system. Additionally, Prior Studies is used to search for prior studies located in the archives. The orange Exam button will start the syngo Acquisition Workplace allowing for protocol selection, same as the Exam icon in the toolbar. syngo Acquisition Workplace ? syngo Acquisition Workplace The syngo Acquisition Workplace is the workplace utilized when conducting a scan. It provides an overview of the entire examination in progress. Hover over each highlighted area of the syngo Acquisition Workplace to learn about the screen layout. Timeline …displays the scan progress in a chronological order by displaying a all ranges, scan delay times, injection phases, and automatic patient instructions from left to right at the time they occur. The colors in the timeline match the range color in the taskflow control. Please note: Due to the length of PET acquisitions, the bars in the timeline which equal 1 second each for CT acquisitions are summed together between the first and last 10 seconds for PET acquisitions. In this example, the total scan time is 600 seconds. The first 10 seconds and the last 10 seconds are displayed and the shortened bars in the middle display the 580 seconds in between. Parameter Panel …displays the available scan and recon parameters. The panel is NOT automatically displayed by default and can be shown by right clicking a range in the timeline and selecting “Show Parameters”. Recon Ranges …displays the recon ranges for each scan range. A recon range is indicated by a recon icon. The icons are framed in the color of the range and indicate the execution state and characteristics of the recon job. Tomogram Segment …displays the acquired tomogram. Topogram Segment …displays the acquired topogram. CARE Profile Segment …displays the dose curve. Execution Control …displays the control buttons. Taskflow Control: The selected protocol is displayed at the top of the Taskflow Control. The protocol contains the predefined scan parameters, reconstruction parameters, and processing parameters. Factory protocols are available for standard and advanced protocols. Within the Patient Position task, the patient position is confirmed. The patient’s position on the table should match the patient position displayed in the pictogram. Any Preconditions to continuing the examination will be displayed in the Preconditions Task. These include gantry readiness and required calibrations being completed. The CT and PET acquisition within the protocol are displayed next. Parameters such as Scan Duration and Dose Information can be modified here. Check&GO is the quality check feature that will verify the quality of the images before they are reconstructed. To use this feature, it must be turned on in the protocol before the scan begins. Reconstruction will be discussed in more detail later in this training. Close is where the examination is finalized. This can be done even if some tasks are not yet completed. Scan Conflict Management: The Preconditions task in the Taskflow Control Area displays information about the reason for a conflict and how it can be resolved. The icons will also mark the parameter which needs to be modified in the Scan or Recon Parameters display. A yellow circle with an exclamation point indicates a warning but the scan can continue with the current parameters. A red triangle with and exclamation point indicates an error and must be corrected before the scan can continue. Timeline: The syngo Acquisition Workplace provides an overview of the entire examination progress in the Timeline. The timeline shows the scan progress in chronological order by displaying all the ranges, scan delay times, injections phases, and automatic patient instructions from left to right. The timeline displays scanned and unscanned ranges on a time axis in seconds. A pause allows an auto range to be split into two independent ranges. Scan delay time is the time before radiation is started and image data is acquired. And the Exam time which is the total time remaining in the exam. To repeat a scan, right click on a scan range and select repeat from the context menu. The new scan range is added to the timeline immediately after the selected scan range. To delete a scan, right click on a scan range and select Delete from the context menu. Parameter Panel: The Parameter Panel displays the scan and recon parameters that are defined in the selected scan protocol. The parameters are grouped into scanning and reconstruction categories for quick modification. If a parameter cannot be found in the parameters panel, check back on the Protocol Parameters Tab. The background color will change for the modified parameters and any dependent parameters. If the background becomes green, the value is accepted. If the background becomes yellow, the new parameter is invalid and must be corrected before continuing. To access the scan parameters, double click or right click on the Scan Range in the timeline and select “Show Parameters”. Only the scan parameters for the selected scan range are displayed. To access the recon parameters, double-click or right click on the recon icon in the Recon Ranges Area and select “Show Parameters”. Only the recon parameters for the selected recon range are displayed. Edit Mode Toolbar: The Edit Mode Toolbar contains various instructions and commands that can be applied to a scan range. To access the Edit Mode Toolbar, right-click on the Unscanned Scan Range in the Timeline and select Open Edit Mode. The Toolbar is made up of three sections: Exam, Audio Control, and Contrast. Select the markers to learn more about each area of the edit mode toolbar. Advanced Dose Dialog: The user can enter the Radiopharmaceutical Dose information directly into the PET Taskflow Control area. If the user prefers to enter additional information pertaining to the Radiopharmaceutical Dose, they can access the Advanced Dose Dialog by selecting the syringe icon in the PET Taskflow Control area. Once selected, the Advanced Dose Dialog box opens allowing the user to enter dose volume, Pre-injections, Post-injection, and Injected dose information. Advanced Dose Dialog The Advanced Dose Dialog allows the user to enter Radiopharmaceutical Dose information including Pre-injection, Post-injection, and Injected Dose. 6 Edit Mode Toolbar The Edit Mode Toolbar contains various instructions and commands that can be applied to a scan range. 5 Exam Area Connect Ranges – used to connect ranges to an auto range Pause – used to add a pause between two scan ranges to split an auto range Contrast Area Use the bolus tracking icon to configure the range for CARE Bolus CT. Use the Test Bolus icon to configure the range for a Test Bolus CT Examination. Audio Control Area Command– used to add a Patient Instruction to the Scan Range Instruction Language – used to select the instruction language for all scan ranges of the same examination Patient Instruction – used to select the instruction text for each scan range individually or for all scan ranges in the examination Mute – if selected before starting the scan range, the examination will be performed without playing the instructions (the scan delay time will remain the same) Apply to All – selected by default and will apply the selected instructions to all scan ranges Parameter Panel The parameter panel displays the scan and recon parameters that are defined in the selected scan protocol. 4 Timeline The timeline shows: Scanned and Unscanned Ranges Time axis in seconds Pause Scan Delay Time Exam Time 3 Scan Conflict Management The Preconditions task in the Taskflow Control Area displays information about the reason for a conflict and how it can be resolved. The icons will also mark the parameter which needs to be modified in the Scan or Recon Parameters display. A yellow circle with an exclamation point indicates a warning but the scan can continue with the current parameters. A red triangle with an exclamation point indicates an error and must be corrected before the scan can continue. 2 Taskflow Control The selected protocol is displayed at the top of the Taskflow Control. The protocol contains the predefined scan parameters, reconstruction parameters, and processing parameters. 1 Reconstruction ? Reconstruction Select each of the 6 areas. Reconstruction After the acquisition is complete and the image quality is approved, it is time to proceed with the Reconstruction task. The screen layout during reconstruction includes the Image Area, Recon Ranges, Recon Tools, Planning Base, Execution Control Buttons after scanning, and Recon Control. Select each of the highlighted areas to learn more. Image Area: The Image Area can have a four-segment layout or a blow-up layout of a single segment. The top-left segment displays the coronal image and is framed in pink. The top-right segment is the sagittal image and is framed in yellow. The bottom-left segment displays the axial image and is framed in green. And, the bottom-right segment can display a preview of an unperformed recon job. This segment has a colored frame that matches the color of the range selected. Recon Ranges Area: This area displays the reconstructions in the protocol from top to bottom. Each range is visualized by a row labeled with the name of the range and each recon job is represented by a recon icon within the row. The icons are framed in the color of the range and indicate the execution state and the characteristics of the recon job using symbols within the icon. When you right-click on an incomplete recon job icon, the following options are available in the context menu: Show Parameters opens the recon parameter panel showing the current parameters of the selected recon job. If needed, the parameters can be changed before starting the recon. Delete deletes the recon job. Repeat repeats the selected recon job within the range; the new recon job is appended after the last recon job in the range. Depending on the recon type, these additional options may also be in the context menu: Copy all Recon Parameters copies all parameters of the selected recon job. Paste all Recon Parameters – applies the copied parameters to the selected recon job. These options are useful if a recon job is to be used as a template for other recon jobs. The copied parameters can be applied between ranges; however selecting multiple recon jobs is not possible. Copy Recon Volume Parameters is used to copy the exact same volume of a recon job to be used in another recon. Paste Recon Volume Parameters applies the copied volume parameters to the selected recon job. This option is useful if the user moves only one recon box in a set of recons that should all match. Recon Tools: The Recon Tools area provides icons for planning the recon job. There are four possible recon tools: The MPR icon switches the planning base to MPR display; The MIP Thin icons switches the planning base to the MIP display; The Set FoV segment sets the image orientation for the result image series; and the Set Reference Segment sets the orientation image for the reference range. Planning Base Area: The icons in the base indicate the image types that can be used as a planning base. From here, you can select the icon to set that series as the planning base. It can either be the performed reconstruction series, a real-time image series, or the Topogram. Execution Control: Execution control buttons after scanning. The Recon All button starts the reconstruction of all valid recon jobs. The Next button opens the Close task in the Taskflow Control Area. The Cancel button is not active for the Reconstruction task. Recon Control: The Recon Control Area hosts the Recon and Cancel buttons. The Recon button starts the reconstruction of the selected recon job. The cancel button cancels the reconstruction of the selected recon job. ? Reconstruction Select Close to proceed. Reconstruction The Close task of the Taskflow Control Area opens the job status tab. ? Reconstruction Reconstruction The Job Status Tab provides an overview of all recon jobs, their status, and auto-tasking settings. ? Reconstruction Recon Icons Before Reconstruction Recon Job is Queued Recon Job is Running Recon Icons After Reconstruction Recon Job is Canceled Recon Job Failed Recon Job Has Parameter Conflict (cannot be processed) Select the “X” to complete Reconstruction and return to Examination. Reconstruction Here are a variety of icons that could be displayed for the recon job in the Recon Ranges Area. Patient Browser ? Patient Browser Select each of the 6 areas. Select the “X” to complete the Patient Browser and return to Examination. Patient Browser As previously mentioned, PETsyngo consists of two parts. Scheduler and Patient Browser. The Patient Browser is the entry point to manage studies and start the reading workflow. From here, you can search for results, load data for reading, manage raw data, and import or export data. Select the highlighted areas of the screen to learn more about the parts of the Patient Browser screen. Worklist Bar: The worklist bar allows for data displayed in the Results list to be filtered. Local Data is the default worklist showing all the data located on the system. Selecting the plus icon in the upper right next to the local data tab allows a new worklist to be created and saved to the user account utilizing the current filter settings. Search Area: The Search Area enables you to set the criteria to find specific data or setup specified worklists. The Search Area is divided into three sections: quick search field, more filters, and the add condition area. The Quick Search Field searches for a combination of data including patient name, date of birth, ID study description, date, accession number, or modality within the Local Data worklist. More filters provides additional search conditions for filtering. Add condition adds to or removes search condition fields from the More Filters area. Results List: The Results List shows the data that matches the current search criteria. This list can be displayed either by studies or patients. The studies list shows studies one by one and the patient list show the studies grouped by the patient level. Toolbar: The Patient Browser Toolbar can be found above the Series List and provides access to a multitude of tools for data management. Many of these tools can be found by right clicking on a study in the Results List. Select the markers to learn more about each icon. Series List: The Series List shows the series of the selected study. The Series List view can be displayed either as a list or in thumbnail view. Instances List: The Instances List shows the images and results of the selected series. It can be displayed in either list view, preview view, or thumbnail view. The list view will list the instances of the selected series. The preview view will show a preview of the selected series which can be scrolled through. The thumbnail view shows a small thumbnail image for each of the selected studies. MI View&GO Loads patient data for reading into MI View&GO. Print Opens the print workflow for printing the selected data. Open With Lets you select the workflow and loads patient data for reading. DICOM Q/R Searches and retrieves studies from external media or DICOM nodes. Import Imports files from external media, file systems, or network nodes. Export Exports DICOM data to external media, file systems, or network nodes. Correct Allows for the correction of patient data. Delete Deletes data from the short-term storage. Manage Raw Data Opens the Manage Raw Data dialog to delete, export, or import raw data. Recon Start the offline reconstruction. Open Loads the patient data for reading with the assigned workflow.
