Biograph Mobile mCT System Start-up and Shutdown Procedure Mobile Biograph mCT VG80 and above Starting up and preparing the system 1. Connect the system to shore power. Performing patient scans while connected to genera- tor power is not supported. 2. Remove the Transportation Belt. 3. With the patient table in the fully retracted and down (latched) position, firmly push the pedestal horizontally as far as possible toward the gantry in preparation for startup. Note that the movement may be 2mm or less when pushing the PHS toward the gantry. This movement, although minimal, is necessary to allow the patient table to operate. 4. When Smart Mobile Connect pops up on the console, select the correct hospital location for the day. Select either Change Site or Keep Current Site as necessary. 6. When all the computers are up and running and the green light on the control box is stable green, the Examination task card is displayed on the syngo Acquisition Workplace console and all computer icons on the bottom right of the monitor are green. 7. Perform Daily Checkup on the CT subsystem by clicking Checkup on the Checkup window. This prompt should appear automatically. Checkup For best image quality please run checkup procedure. Please leave the scan room. The table will move out of the gantry. X-rays will be produced during the checkup procedure. Click on Checkup to start procedure Click on Cancel to skip procedure. After the successful checkup, perform CT Quality using the proper CT Quality phantom. This can be accessed by clicking Setup > Quality. 10. Attach the L-shaped phantom bracket into the receptacle at the end of the PHS and then attach the quality phantom securely into the bracket. Lightly tighten any bolts to hold the pieces in place. 11. Press the predefined position button A on the gantry controls. This will bring the phantom up and into the gantry field of view at the proper location. Start the CT Quality test by pressing OK and pressing the Start button on the control box when prompted. 13. When finished, confirm a successful test by clicking OK. 14. Remove the CT Phantom and prepare the PET Quality Check by clicking Setup > PET Quality Check. 15. Attach the semi-circular phantom adapter securely to the bracket and slide the PET uniform phantom into the phantom adapter. 16. Select Full Setup (this will also automatically highlight the Time Alignment). If the results are within the typical range of your system type, the system quality result will PASS and a green checkmark is displayed. User may view sinogram to visually inspect. If all tests are successful, click Save and Close. 20. If the results are out of range, the system quality result will say FAIL and there will be a red X box. If the system quality result fails, check the phantom placement and repeat the acquisition. If the problem persists, contact the Siemens Healthineers service representative. 21. Remove the PET phantom and source holder, leaving the L-shaped bracket. 22. Prepare for Gantry Offset test by placing the two rod sources in the Gantry Offset holder. 23. Attach the Gantry Offset holder to the bracket and ensure that it is level. 24. Position the Gantry Offset holder for a Topogram. Use the horizontal and vertical laser lights to align the phantom in the isocenter. Note the height and table position for future reference. 25. Manually register a Gantry Offset patient (or select a previously registered one) and click Exam. Remove the head holder and foot extender accessories from the patient table and store them for transport. If present, remove the Radiation Therapy Planning (RTP) pallet from the patient table and secure it for transport. 3. On the gantry control panel, press and hold the Home button until the patient table motion stops in the fully-retracted and down position. 4. Inspect the lock indicator on the table column to verify that the table is locked. The indica- tor should line up with the adjacent decal. If the patient table cannot be locked, inform transport personnel to ensure that the PHS latch strap is installed to secure the patient table prior to transport.
