Parametric for Routine PET/CT 1 Miscellaneous Topics 2 Welcome Welcome to the Biograph Horizon VJ35 software upgrade online training. This training describes the changes and new features coming with the new software version VJ35. VJ35 extends the potential of Biograph Horizon, offering Parametric for Routine PET/CT capabilities. We will finish our training with a couple of additional notes. For navigation help, select the question mark button located in the corner of each slide. VJ35 PET Parametric for routine PET/CT ? PET Parametric for Routine PET/CT With VJ35, PET Parametric for Routine PET/CT is now available on Biograph Horizon. ? PET Parametric for Routine PET/CT With VJ35, we are introducing a new feature for FlowMotion Multiparamtric PET AI, a population-based input function (PBIF, for short). Traditionally, to perform a multiparametric examination, you inject the patient on the table and during the first 6 minutes the input function is measured. Then the patient remains on the table for the duration of the scan lasting up to 75 minutes or more. With PBIF, you can inject a patient in a normal uptake room as you would do for a standard PET/CT scan and only perform a late dynamic wholebody scan. The computer figures out how to adjust the population-based input function provided in the software based on the data of the dynamic wholebody scan. So, customers can now do a parametric examination with a workflow similar to a standard wholebody scan which may facilitate more frequent utilization of multiparametric procedures. ? Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak Let’s take a look at the acquisition protocol for OncoDynamicCBM Patlak now. There is a dropdown for the Input Region which allows the user to select Population-Based Input Function. When doing this, the user can then right-click on the PET Input Region in the chronicle and cut the PET Input Region acquisition from the scan protocol. This allows the user to inject the patient in an uptake room and only perform a late dynamic wholebody scan. 2: The patient can be injected and uptake in an uptake room for a minimum of 45 minutes. Once the uptake period is complete, the patient can be placed on the Biograph Horizon for scanning. The dynamic scan will acquire from 45 minutes post injection through 75 minutes post injection, a total of 30 minutes. The user can adjust the number of passes to six total passes for a duration of 5 minutes per pass. Please adjust the scan speed for each pass to equal a duration of approximately 5 minutes. Scan speed will vary with patient axial scan range. 3: For the PET Dynamic recon, the user can use remove this recon by right clicking and deleting the reconstruction from the chronicle. This reconstruction is no longer needed to create the time activity curve. 4: Now for the PET Input Region Dynamic recon. The user will indicate the input region as Population-Based Input Function, in the input region dropdown, above additional settings. This reconstruction creates a 6-frame dynamic reconstruction from the wholebody scan, and it will trigger the creation of the automatic VOIs. The user can set this reconstruction to auto display into TrueD along with the CT reconstruction to perform automatic VOI quality check, look at the time activity curve, as well as do an image quality check of the data. 5: For the PET Summed recon, the user can sum passes 4 through 6 which will be 60 minutes post injection through 75 minutes post injection. This reconstruction will be used for the standard SUV quantification. 6: Now for the PET Patlak reconstruction, the user will use all 6 passes. This reconstruction will be used for the parametric Patlak display of metabolic rate of FDG uptake, Ki, and distribution volume, DV, images. 7: Once the user has finished editing the protocol, they will want to be sure to save the new protocol with a new name. To do this, the user will navigate to the edit dropdown in the menu bar, and choose save scan protocol. When the dialog box opens up, the user can input a new name, and then select save. This will save the new protocol with this new name. Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 7 Once the edits have been applied to the protocol, save the new protocol with a new name: Edit. Save scan protocol. Type in a new name: OncoDynCBM_PatlakPBIF Save. Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 6 For the PET Patlak recon, the user will use all 6 passes This recon will be used for the parametric Patlak display of Ki and DV images Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 5 For the PET Summed recon, the user can sum Passes 4-6 which will be 60 min post injection to 75 min post injection This recon will be used for the standard SUV quantification Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 4 For the PET Input Region Dynamic recon, the user will use this recon to indicate the Input Region as Population-Based IF This reconstruction creates a 6-frame dynamic reconstruction from the WB scan, and it will trigger the creation of the automatic VOIs Auto Display this recon with the CT reconstruction into TrueD to perform the Automatic VOI quality check, TAC, and image quality check Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 3 For the PET Dynamic recon, the user can remove this recon by right clicking and deleting the recon This recon is no longer needed to create the Time Activity Curve (TAC) Scan Protocol: OncoDynamicCBM_Patlak 2 Patient can uptake in uptake room for a minimum of 45 minutes Patient can then be scanned from 45 min post injection to 75 min post injection scanning for 6 passes at approx. 5 minutes per pass VJ35 Miscellaneous topics ? Miscellaneous After discussing the main new features in VJ35, please find additional topics in the VJ35 release information. ? Current limitations For Parametric scans, ensure you close the patient within the Examination task card before loading the SUV, slope, and intercept images into TrueD. If you do not close the patient, only the CT images will load into TrueD. If the QC is aborted during a critical operation, such as Partial Setup, Full Setup, and/or Time Alignment, please rerun QC and ensure it is successful before scanning a patient. Reconstructions will fail if the pitch is set to anything greater than 1.5 and HD/Ext-FOV is selected. Please either decrease the pitch or unselect HD/Ext-FOV before resubmitting the reconstruction. Please review the Release Information document for current limitations and workarounds. Click Next to continue.
