All three of these features are used to customize your experience on Document Library. Please note that you must be signed into Document Library to utilize these features. Let’s discuss how to use each of these features. If there is a document that is frequently utilized, such as an operator manual, that document can be saved to Favorites for quick and easy access. To add a document to Favorites, select the document in the search results so an orange checkmark appears. Then, select Add to Favorites in the header above the search results. Select Next to continue. Blank Now, anytime you want to access that document quickly, select the Favorites header at the top of the page, and your document will appear on the My Favorites list. Please note that if there is a new version of a document released, the document saved in My Favorites will not automatically update to the new version. Blank Let’s now learn about the My Products tab. When searching for documents on Document Library, you can immediately filter the documents to only show ones related to the products you have. For example, if you only have Atellica analyzers and no other Siemens products, you can have only Atellica documents appear in your Document Library searches. To set up this filter, My Products is selected in the header at the top of the page. Find the products you would like to see using the filters on the left side of the screen, and select the products ensuring there is an orange checkmark next to it. Your products are now on the right side of the screen. To delete a product, select the trashcan next to it. Moving forward, whenever searching for a document in Document Library, ensure the toggle next to “Only my products” is turned on, so only information is shown for the products you selected. To expand your search and view results from products outside of what is saved in the “Only my products” filter, deselect the feature. Blank The last feature in the header to discuss is Email Notifications. If you would like to receive a weekly email notification for document updates based on the products you use, such as when there is a revision to the Instructions For Use, you can subscribe to them here. Please note that you will receive email notifications based on the products you selected in the My Products tab we just discussed. First, turn on the orange toggle next to Subscribe. Below that, here you can decide which email notifications you would like based on document type. For example, if you do not wish to receive email notification on every document type, you can select which documents you’re interested in, such as Bulletins, CLSI procedures, etc. To delete a notification, select the trashcan next to the notification you are subscribed to. Here is an example of what an email notification will look like. Please note that email notifications arrive once a week. Select Next to continue. IFUs Blank A simple way to find the most current IFU for your products is to go back to the home page on Document Library. Once there, ensure you are logged on and the Only my products toggle at the top of the page is selected. Then select Reagent IFUs from the Laboratory Diagnostics and Point of Care section. This method will take you directly to the current versions of IFUs for your products. From here, you can use the free text filter to type in the name of the assay you are looking for. Lets say we were looking for the Drug Cal II Calibrator IFU. Blank Once selected, the IFU will open in PDF format. When viewing an IFU, a bar in the left margin indicates changes for that revision of the document. Note that frequently used IFU can also be saved to your favorites list, just like any document on Document Library. Assay Charts Blank IM and CH assay charts are a compilation of pertinent reagent and calibrator information in a chart form. There are separate assay charts for both the Immunoassay and Chemistry analyzers. To locate the assay charts, type “Assay Chart” into the free text field in the filters section. Notice in results section that both the assay charts for the IM and CH module appeared. Also ensure that you are selecting the correct assay chart revision. Let’s see what an assay chart looks like. Blank Here is what an assay chart looks like for the CH analyzer. The left side of the chart lists each assay, followed by more information on the right including: test duration, sample volume, assay measuring interval, expected values, calibrator information, and more. Please note that the Assay Charts are not updated with every IFU revision. The software version that the Assay Chart applies to is listed at the top of the chart. The Instructions for Use is the primary source for assay details and should always be consulted for the most up to date information. Select Next to continue. Other Documents Blank There are many other important documents that are necessary for laboratory operations such as: Bulletins, Release Notes, Operators Guides, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Let’s see where we can locate those documents on Document Library. As always, when searching in Document Library, it is helpful to have established the My Products filter we already configured to automatically filter to the products we want to see. We will begin with Operator’s Guides. The Operator’s Guides are found in the filter on the left side. Under Instrument and Software Information, See the filter for Manuals/Guides. A tip to find the operators guide quickly, is to type in Operators Guide in the free text filter. Once you find the Operator Guide you are looking for, make sure it corresponds to the software version you have on your instrument. Don’t forget that you can save the Operators Guides to your favorites for easy access in the future. It also should be noted that when there is a new software release, Siemens will create Release Notes with information pertaining to the changes that can be found in the new version of software. The filter to find the release notes is right below the Manual/Guides filters, or you can type release notes into the free text filter. Select Next to continue. Blank In charge of writing procedures in your lab? If so, the files in Document Library titled CLSI Procedures are files which can be used to create customized instructions for use, or standard operating procedures for your lab. These files use MS Word format (.doc) so that they are editable. To easily find a procedure for a particular assay, type out the assay name in the free text filter, and then continue to filter in Document types, to Reagent/Consumable Information and that is where you will find the CLSI Procedures filter. The available documents will appear on the right. Blank Here is an example of what the CLSI procedures look like. These documents do open on Word so you can edit the document in this format, or copy and paste it into your laboratory’s SOP format. Blank Another helpful document located on Document Library is Online Help. Instead of going to the instrument to lookup information in the Online Help, you can download it from Document Library and use the document from your desk. Section 3 of the Online Help also includes helpful information about Document Library including how to configure and navigate the site. To locate Online Help, simply type online help into the free text filter. Blank Looking at a close up view of the filters on the left of Document Library, here you can find other important documents that are related to laboratory operations such as: bulletins and Safety Data Sheets. Of course you can use the free text filter to locate these documents as well.
