We will cover the system software and daily workflow of the HEMA Connect. ? Atellica HEMA Connect Atellica HEMA Connect The Atellica HEMA Connect is an optional module that automates tube transport between a Laboratory Automation System (other than the Atellica HEMA Transport System) and the analyzer. It is intended to provide interconnectivity between Atellica HEMA analyzers and laboratory automation solutions. ? Light Pole Light Pole Let’s begin with the Atellica HEMA Connect Light Pole. This indicates the status for both the analyzer and the Atellica HEMA Connect itself. Refer to the Operator’s Guide to learn about what each status indicates and if an analysis can run in each state. ? Home Screen Home Screen Overview To access the Atellica HEMA Connect screen, from your Atellica HEMA High Volume analyzer’s home screen, select the HEMA Connect tile. Please note: The HEMA Connect user interface only displays when the analyzer is in communication with the HEMA Connect. When a user logs into the analyzer, the HEMA Connect uses the log in credentials provided to determine the appropriate user access level. The HEMA Connect performs an automatic log off after 15 minutes. If this occurs, users must access the HEMA Connect tile from the analyzer home screen to reenable access to the user interface. The HEMA Connect screen displays the overall status of its operation. In the upper left corner of the screen, the HEMA Connect status indicator displays the unit name and color. It displays green if there are no unresolved errors or warnings, yellow if there are unresolved warnings, or red if there are unresolved errors which force the HEMA Connect to stop operation. At the top of the screen, the operator can use: tab buttons to access the Maintenance, Log, and Settings screens; a notifications button to see recent alerts; and a menu bar button to access the About, Wake Up, Shutdown and Restart features. In the center right section of the screen is the Laboratory Automation System Buffer Lane status indicator and the HEMA Connect rack ID and status indicators. The operator can select each rack status visual to view the Rack number, Rack ID, and Current Location along with the additional option to front eject the rack. Please note: Racks can only be ejected if the analyzer is in rack mode and the operational state of the analyzer and HEMA Connect allows for front eject to occur. Rack ejection is not immediate and requires inprocess tasks to be completed first. The Position, Tube ID, STAT indicator, and Status of each tube within the rack also display. Tube IDs display as 0 until the HEMA Connect scans the tube. The Buffer Lane window only shows tubes, their buffer lane positions, IDs, STAT indicators and Status. Below the rack status indicators are: Status indicators for the Memory Card, Pressure, Barcode Reader, Analyzer and Automation. In the lower-left corner of the screen, the HEMA Connect operating mode displays along with a drop-down menu to switch between Unload Only mode, Normal Operation, and Reduced Speed mode (which is used for servicing the HEMA Connect). Below the mode selection drop-down is the Play button and Stop button and the Light On/Off toggle button, which turns on and off the LED lights of the Smart Camera that supports inspection at the tube to rack transfer position. The Play button and Stop button only provide input to the HEMA Connect. They operate independently of the analyzer Pause racks and Start racks buttons. ? Software Overview Tab introduction statement. Select the tab arrows to learn more about the different software screens. Diagnostics Screen Error Recovery Log Settings Configuration Settings Software Software Overview Main: Let’s dive deeper into some more software screens. Select the tab arrows to learn more about the Diagnostics Screen, Error Recovery, the Log, Settings Configuration, and Settings Software. Diagnostics Screen: The operator uses the screen for Diagnostics to troubleshoot and correct issues with the HEMA Connect gripper, X-Axis position, Y-Axis position, or Z-Axis position. The operator can access this screen when an error or warning message displays with instructions to be followed that may correct the issue. You can also access it by selecting Maintenance, and then select Diagnostics. In the top-left corner of the screen, a toggle button enables or disables Diagnostics Mode, which must be enabled to prepare the HEMA Connect to perform exercises. Please note: the READY or STOPPED state is required to enter Diagnostics Mode. If HEMA Connect is in Sleep mode, Wake up must be selected in the menu bar prior to enabling Diagnostics Mode. When Diagnostics Mode is enabled, no new tubes are routed to the HEMA Connect. Below the toggle button is a drop-down menu that the operator uses to select an exercise. The operator can home the X-Axis, Y-Axis, or Z-Axis or open and close the gripper as directed by the error or warning message instructions. The operator initiates an exercise by first selecting the exercise from the drop-down menu and then selecting Abort or Perform. The Manual Exercise button is only accessible by Service for use during a troubleshooting service call. On the right side of the screen, the operator can review the current Exercise Step, Parameters, and Status while an exercise is performed. Select the X at the top of the screen to return back to the course. Error Recovery: Access the Error Recovery screen by selecting Error Recovery from the Maintenance screen. This screen displays a list of unresolved errors and warnings with their Date, Severity, ID, and Event description. The operator can select each warning or error to display a Log Details screen, which displays the ID, Date, Severity, Message Text, Explanation and any associated Actions the operator can take to attempt to resolve the issue. Event messages that require manual intervention remain active until they are resolved. Select the X at the top of the screen to return back to the course. Log: Select Log from the top of the screen. The screen for Log displays a list of all information, warning, and error event messages recorded within a given time frame for at least the previous 30 calendar days. The operator is notified when free storage space is insufficient. The operator can input the Start Date, End Date, and End Time to review particular time frames. The Date, Severity, ID, and Event description of each message is displayed and each can be used as a filter. The operator can also select individual events to display the Log Details screen, which displays: ID, Date, Severity, Message Text, Explanation, and actions the operator can take to attempt to resolve the issue. The operator can use the Filter feature on the left-hand side of the screen to search for a particular event. At the bottom of the screen, the Add New button allows the operator to add user inspection or service events by Type of Service and any comments which may be applicable to the event. The operator can use the Export button to initiate export of the event logs to a USB flash drive attached to the analyzer. The analyzer must not be busy when the Export operation is initiated. Select the X at the top of the screen to return back to the course. Settings Configuration: To access the Configuration screen, select Settings and select Configuration. The local technical support provider uses the screen for Configuration to set up and configure the HEMA Connect Initial Setup, Homing Positions, Configure Positions, and Behavior. The operator can select “More...” then the Export button to export a file containing the configuration settings to a USB flash drive attached to the analyzer. With the exception of that feature, the screen for Configuration is read-only for Operator and Lab Manager profile access users so its information may be relayed to the local technical support provider to assist with troubleshooting.
