Later in this course we will describe in more detail the features and functionality of the Home tab. Sample Query Browser displays lists of samples based on search criteria entered or selected. Here you can view information such as priority, status, type, patient, and location information. Review and Edit allows you to review, modify, and take action on test results from connected systems. You can also view results comments and access the Diff Pad to perform differential blood counts. The Review and Edit tab also provides images for applicable tests and displays any consensus rules that tests may trigger. Quality Control (QC) allows you to view and act on the control and patient-based QC data collected from all connected analyzers. The QC tab contains 4 sub-tabs: Results, Alerts, Graph, and QC Population Status. The QC Results tab displays all QC results that match the criteria specified in the QC Filter. The QC Alerts tab displays all current QC alerts and selecting an alert displays all QC results for the assay associated with the alert-triggering QC result. The QC Graph tab displays QC results for one or more selected QC populations in a Levey-Jennings graph. And the QC Population Status tab allows you to view and define whether populations for assays are active, inactive, or evaluating to ensure that QC severity reset checking applies to the appropriate QC populations. Traceability enables the capture of consumable information for reagents, calibrations, quality control (QC) lots, and other consumables associated with the generation of a patient result and maintains traceability for auditing purposes. The Traceability tab contains 4 sub-tabs: Configuration, Patient Results, Expiration Alerts, and Trace Alerts. Configuration allows you to review and manage the status of reagent lots, calibration lots, and consumable lots. Patient Results allows you to identify which consumables were involved in the generation of a patient’s result. Expiration Alerts displays list of soon-to-expire and expired consumables for reagent, QC, calibration, and consumable lots. And Trace Alerts is an optional feature to raise a warning when insufficient trace information is associated with a result. Utilities provides an additional workspace for viewing and performing system management and configuration activities selected from the Menu icon. Finally, the Archive tab (which is only available for VA2+ server configurations) allows you to archive patient results for long-term storage, providing an alternative to purging patient samples. ?
