Switch the system on/off Job aid ARTIS icono, ARTIS pheno This job aid explains how to switch on and off. Switch the System On and Start the System Before switching the system on, ensure that the on-site main switch is switched on, and the emergency shutdown button is inactive. Press the power-on pushbutton on the central power control for more than 0.5 s. Then release the button. SIEMENS The system performs a self-test and is started up. • During system start-up, BYPASS is displayed. This means that the system is in the Bypass fluoroscopy operating mode. In an emergency (continuous) fluoroscopy is possible at this stage. • The user interface appears in the examination room but cannot yet be operated. • The system goes to Backup mode. A default patient is registered and a default exam set is available. Fluoroscopy and acquisition are possible in the examination room. Registrations of new patients and postprocessing are not yet possible. In case of an emergency, you can start the examination. • The user interface appears in the control room, but cannot yet be operated. • The symbols on the display become selectable. • If you perform fluoroscopy and/or acquisitions in backup mode, images are transferred from the buffer to the memory. • The system restarts processes that were not terminated when the system was last switched off (e.g. sending images). After start-up of the system or after a configurable time when no action has been performed, the Welcome! screen is displayed in the examination room. Welcome! Shut Down the System When shutting down the system, the whole system (control room and examination room) shuts down. However, certain components remain on standby, so that you can work with the system immediately after restarting. The normal procedure to switch off the system completely is the following: 1. Go to the Home screen. Select Shut down System. 4. A dialog box is displayed. Click Yes or No to continue. Select No. • You return to the Home screen. Select Yes. • The system closes open workflows, saves results, and shuts down. • If there are still running background jobs, a Shutdown dialog box opens that displays the progress of the shutdown process. • On the Shutdown dialog box, you can select Force Shutdown to force the system to shut down. The system aborts all running jobs and unsaved results of open workflows will be lost. Shutting down the system will close all open workflows and save the results to the Short Term Storage (STS). The system waits until all jobs are completed, for example, printing and archiving jobs.
