ADVIA® 2120i Replace the Autoslide Printer Cartridge Video

This video explains how to replace the printer cartridge on the ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Slide Maker Stainer.

In this video you will learn how to replace the printer cartridge in the ADVIA 2120 I auto slide Slide Maker Stainer. You should replace the cartridge when the print on the slides becomes pale. First place the ADVIA 2120 I analyzer in standby mode by pressing the standby button on the analyzer touch pad. Wait for the analyzer to stop processing samples and enter standby mode before continuing. Next you will power off the auto slide. However, you must wait until all slides have been processed and moved to the output queue. Turning off the auto slide while slides are processing can cause unreliable results and damage. When all slides have finished processing and have moved to the output queue, locate the power switch on the back of the auto slide and set it to the off position. Only the auto slide needs to be powered off for this procedure. The analyzer can remain powered on. If there are any slide racks in the slide rack loader, pull them up and out of the auto slide. Set them aside. You might not be able to reach the last slide rack on the bottom. This is acceptable. You will be able to remove it later in this procedure. Next, open the front cover by grasping the top and pulling it forward. The cover will swing down. Pull the slide rack loader up to remove it and set it aside. If any slide racks remain, remove them at this time. Removing the slide rack loader will cause an ASL error. This error will be cleared later in this procedure. To release the cartridge from the cartridge holder, place your finger behind the tab on the back of the cartridge and pull it to the right. Then pull the cartridge out of the cartridge holder and dispose of it according to your laboratories protocol. To install the new cartridge, line up the pins with the holes, then press the new cartridge into place. You will feel and hear a click as the tab on the top of the cartridge fits into the slot on the top of the cartridge holder. Be careful to keep the ribbon flat as it slides under the print head and make sure it does not twist or tangle. Next, reinstall the slide rack loader. Align the guide pin with the hole on the plastic tab and slide the slide rack loader down into place. Then tilt the front door up to close it. Reload Slide racks into the slide rack loader. Press the standby button on the analyzer touch pad. The analyzer will return to Ready to run mode. Then locate the power switch on the back of the auto slide and switch it to the ON position. The auto slide will automatically perform a mechanical initialization. There may be a delay of a few seconds before this procedure begins. When it has completed, the ASL error should be cleared and you may begin processing samples again.
