ADVIA® 2120i Empty Waste Job Aid

This job aid explains how to manually empty the waste on the ADVIA® 2120i Hematology system.

ADVIA 2120i Empty Waste – As Needed Manual Waste Removal With an Autowaste Assembly The Autowaste eliminates the need to manually empty waste when it is connected to a waste , 10 psi ‹ disposalsystem and set to automatic mode. If you need to manually empty the waste, perform the following steps: Manual SIM 1. Make sure that the analyzer is not sampling. Automatic 2. Turn the mode selector knob on the waste removal assembly tray from Automatic to Manual Mode (this will take 2–5 minutes to empty). selector knob 3. Look for air bubbles in the discharge line. The air bubbles indicate the container is empty. 4. After the waste container is empty, turn the mode selector knob to Automatic mode. 5. Restart sampling on the analyzer. Waste line Vacuum line ManualWasteRemoval With a Manual Waste Container 1. Make sure that the analyzer is not sampling. 2. Disconnect the waste line and the vacuum line. To do this, press the buttons on the quick- Level release connectors and pull the lines straight up. switch 3. Disconnect the level switch sensor connector by pressing its button. sensor connector 4. Empty the full container by opening the spigot into a drain in accordance with laboratory policy. 5. When the waste container is empty, close the spigot. 6. Verify spigot is closed securely. 7. Connect the waste line, vacuum line and level sensor to the emptied container. 8. Restart sampling on the analyzer.
