The weekly shutdown must be completed once a week in order to avoid clogging the lines. Following the Weekly Shutdown, the Weekly Startup procedure must be performed. This video will show you how to perform both procedures. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown Methanol shutdown you will need To perform a weekly shutdown, you will need methanol and four empty reagent bottles. Methanol is highly flammable and dangerous. The use of methanol can cause very serious irreversible effects through inhalation, if in contact with skin, or if swallowed. So, before you begin this procedure, ensure you are using personal protective equipment and have proper ventilation. Select Operations Home Screen To begin the weekly shutdown, first, select the Operations icon. Select Operations to continue. Select AutoSlide Operations Screen Then, select AutoSlide. Select AutoSlide to continue. Select Weekly Shutdown Autoslide Operations Select Weekly Shutdown. Select Weekly Shutdown to continue. Weekly Shutdown The steps for the Weekly Shutdown are displayed on the screen. This video will demonstrate these instructions for you, step-by-step. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown Methanol 300mL 300mL shutdown methanol to bottles First, pour approximately 300 milliliters of methanol into 2 of the empty reagent bottles. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown 300mL 300mL Stain 1 Stain 2 shutdown staining straws to one bottle Remove both staining straws from their stain bottles and place them in one of the empty bottles. Close the stain bottles with their caps. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown 300mL 300mL Buffer shutdown buffer straw to empty bottle Remove the buffer straw and place it in the other empty container. Close the buffer container. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown 300mL 300mL shutdown status before next You should now have the following setup: One bottle with both staining straws One bottle with the buffer straw Two bottles, each with 300 milliliters of methanol Select Next Shutdown steps1-3 complete We have completed the first three steps. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown 300mL 300mL Shutdown straws to methanol bottles Now, place both staining straws into one of the methanol bottles and the buffer straw into the other methanol bottle. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Shutdown 300mL 300mL shutdown complete The Autoslide will draw methanol through the straws and into the staining wells. Leave the straws as they are until the next weekly startup. The weekly shutdown process is now complete. Startup ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Startup Startup introduction The next part of this video will show you how to perform a weekly startup on the ADVIA 2120i Autoslide. Whenever a weekly shutdown has been performed, a weekly startup procedure must be carried out the next time the Autoslide is started. When you begin this procedure, there should be one bottle containing two staining straws and one bottle containing the buffer straw. There may be some residual methanol left in the bottles with the straws. So, before you begin this procedure, ensure you are using personal protective equipment and have proper ventilation. You will also need the buffer bottle, the two stain bottles, and two clean, empty reagent bottles. Select Weekly Startup AutoSlide Operations From the AutoSlide Operations screen, select Weekly Startup. Select Weekly Startup to continue. Weekly Startup Screen Instructions for this procedure display on the screen. This video will demonstrate these instructions for you, step-by-step. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Startup Startup straws to empty bottles Remove both staining straws and place them into one empty bottle together. Remove the buffer straw and place it into another empty bottle. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Startup Startup close reagent bottles Close the reagent bottles that formerly contained methanol with their caps. Select Next Startup steps 1-3 complete The first 3 steps of the weekly startup are complete. Select Next to continue. Select Next to continue. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Startup Stain 1 Stain 2 Startup straws to stain bottles Transfer the staining straws into their stain bottles. Ensure the correct straw goes into the correct stain bottle. ADVIA® 2120i Autoslide Weekly Startup Buffer Startup buffer straw to buffer bottle Transfer the buffer straw to the buffer bottle. Select Next Startup procedure complete Select Next to continue. Select Next to continue. Startup Complete The stains and buffer are then primed.
