Getting Started The 3D volume data set is a series of 2D images gathered over a timed acquisition. Step 1 • Press 3D/4D control CW D / 4D eSielmage • Select 3D or 4D from the touch screen 3D 4D Step 2 • Place the Volume of Interest (VOI) to include the anatomy desired. The VOI can be curved by selecting the Curve option on the touch screen 3D • Press the Update key just above the trackball and the system will automatically acquire a sweep and display the volume .. . . .... . 4D • Press the Update key to start the acquisition. The system will enter live 4D imaging; select Freeze to stop the acquisition Tips: Face • To obtain the frontal view of a fetal face in 3D/4D, ensure that your 2D acquisition plane displays the fetal profile • Use light pressure to increase the amount of fluid seen in front of the fetal face • If the fetus is highly mobile, 4D mode is helpful as several 3D acquisitions may be needed to prevent a blurred image Spine • To obtain a 3D fetal spine, the 2D acquisition plane is preferably spine up • Curve the VOI line to match the curvature of the spine while keeping this line in the amniotic fluid above the spine • The Max IP rendering mode is recommended Step 3 3D • Press Clip Store to store a volume 4D • During live acquisition, press the Clip Store key to store a 4D clip Clip Store • Press the Clip Store key to store a single volume on a frozen image • Stored 3D/4D volumes are marked with a cube graphic 2 siemens-healthineers.com/juniper Render Modes Render LightSource There are five render modes available: Surface • Surface: Smooths image contours, creating a soft sculptured appearance for highlighting surface features of soft tissue Lighting • MinIP (Minimum Intensity Projection): Best for visualizing hypo- echoic lesions and vascular structures • MeanIP (Medium Intensity Projection): Displays the average intensity of the volume rendering • MaxIP (Maximum Intensity Projection): Best for intrauterine devices and bony structures • Light Source: Helps increase depth perception, reveals surface details, provides an element of texture and can provide a deeper understanding of relational anatomy. The adjustable light source direction is automatically activated in a 1:1 layout, but may be activated / deactivated in any layout by selecting the LightSource key on the touch screen Use the trackball to adjust the direction of the light. When in the LightSource mode, there is an option to select the Lighting feature that offers nine quick access directional lighting icons, Light 76% select one of nine lighting icons and adjust the brightness of the selected light level as needed. MPR & VR Orientation A B Adjust the Multi-planar Rendering (MPR) and the volume using the rotation tools on the control C D panel. These controls can be used during 4D live acquisition. • Select the desired quadrant from the touch screen Y N The X axis is controlled by Doppler Angle knob D C • • The Y axis is controlled by PW Doppler knob • The Z axis is controlled by Color knob X O • The MPR Slicing function is located at the Angle M M-mode knob Please note: Update key can be used to toggle between X, Y, and Z axis while in 3D/4D imaging. Use the rotation tools on the touch screen 0º 90º to quickly rotate the volume rendering by set degrees. 270º 180º siemens-healthineers.com/juniper 3 Multislice MultiSlice The Multislice tab contains options for viewing multiple slices of the selected MPR plane at the 9VE3 Early OB same time. It is often referred to as a CT or MRI 4 GB view. Dyn R 50 Contrast 44 Brightness 20 Map L Tint 2 GYN Phantom • Select the desired plane using the A, B, and C keys A B 2×2 • Select the desired orientation and layout from the Bx3 touch screen C D 4x4 6x6 Use the rotary soft key to adjust the slice spacing. Horizontal Vertical Slice Spacing Once a selection is made, tabs for various page 1.0mm selection appear on the Touch Screen: • Prev Page indicates moving through the entire range incrementally Prev Page Next Page • Prev Image allows moving through the slices within the selected range Prev Image Next Image Editing Editing > The editing tab contains options for removing unnecessary structures. L Polygon • Select the desired tool from the touch screen Large Eraser • Using the trackball and Set keys delineate the area for removal Trace Small Eraser • Place the caliper in the area to be removed and press the Set key to finalize Undo All Edit • Edits may be reversed using the touch screen Undo All Edit or use the rotary knob to undo the last edit Undo Last Edit 4 siemens-healthineers.com/juniper Additional Optimization – Acquisition Angle 55 ° Quality 6 Angle • Determines the angle of the volume sweep Quality • Adjusts the resolution and sweep speed between Low, Mid, and High Additional Optimization – VR Threshold Brightness • Decreasing threshold removes low-level echoes • Changes the voxel saturation while increasing threshold adds low-level echoes Contrast Opacity • Raises or lowers the percentage of contrast to enhance • Adjusts the transparency of the voxel differences in tissue Smooth Tint • Averages the edges of the voxels with adjacent • Applies assigned color shades to the gray scale voxels to smooth the volume image appearance Additional Optimization – MPR Dynamic Range Map • Decreasing threshold removes low-level echoes • Adjusts the transparency of the voxel while increasing threshold adds low-level echoes Tint • Applies assigned color shades to the gray scale Review • Select Review from the Control Panel and with the pointer, select the image for review Review • Select the volume cube icon in the bottom right corner of the image for volume manipulation • Any additional images stored while the volume is active in the 3D/4D tab will be stored as volumes or volume clips. Additional images stored while in the Review tab will be stored as still images siemens-healthineers.com/juniper 5 For the proper use of the software or hardware, please always use At Siemens Healthineers, we pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. the Operator Manual or Instructions for Use (hereinafter collectively For everyone.
