ACUSON Juniper™ Ultrasound System | What’s New 2.0 Software Release

This video provides the learner with a high-level overview of the workflow and enhancements for the ACUSON Juniper system software level 2.0.

This presentation provides an overview of the new features of the acuson Juniper 2.0 software release. We will go over each of the main features and workflow enhancements. Two new transducers have been added to the acuson juniper 2 dot O software release. The 6C1 which is a single crystal convex transducer and the 14 L 4 is a 50 millimeter linear transducer. Image quality improvements have been implemented on the 5C1 abdominal and 16 L 4 musculoskeletal presets. Contrast enhanced ultrasound, or Celsius, has been added to the 6C114L4 and 5P1 transducers. The font size is larger for easier visualization when Ccus is engaged. A freeze timer has been added. And the position of the timer is now adjustable. The contrast option for left ventricular opacification lvo imaging has moved from the main touch screen. Elvio is accessible via two options, with the 2.0 software release selecting contrast from the Workflow tab. Or via a shortcut tab on the main touch screen. Elvio is available from the touch screen. When in stress echo mode. Pulse wave PWM and continuous wave CW Doppler are available during lvo imaging. An automatic burst function is available during lvo imaging. Once Burst is selected, the mechanical index and my settings will increase for a few seconds, then adjust back to the original setting. The length of burst is configurable from the soft keys. A new future called Alpha blending allows the user to prioritize between the two D mode and the transparency of the color overlay while in color Doppler velocity or CV mode. This is an example of a carotid artery with CV engaged. Notice the transparency of the color overlay with alpha blending. As the Alpha blend index increases, the transparency of the color overlay increases. New tools have been added to the pediatric hip measurement hip alpha plus beta, hip beta plus alpha, and Hip Alpha. The default measurement is hip alpha plus beta. Additional pediatric hip tools include the percent femoral head coverage and femoral head coverage ratio. The new image rotates feature improves the pediatric hip workflow. This job aid provides a comprehensive review of the pediatric hip measurement workflow on the acuson juniper ultrasound system software level 2.0 and is available in PEP Connect. The optional battery support on the acuson juniper System 2.0 software includes an integrated battery indicator on the monitor so the user can recognize the current battery status, battery level, and whether or not the system is plugged into a power source. The Optional Integrated battery support may provide 45 to 60 minutes of scanning time, depending on imaging modes. The user can hover the mouse cursor over the battery indicator and launch a tooltip message that indicates the battery capacity and whether or not the system is plugged into a power source. Once unplugged, the battery support will alert the user of the remaining battery capacity. Once the battery capacity reaches a low level, under 30%, the battery indicator will become yellow and a warning dialog will appear for five seconds to notify the user to connect to a power source. When the system reaches a critical low level under 15%. The system beeps and the indicator blinks and becomes red with a warning dialog to connect to AC power. In this instance, the user must select OK to continue. Once the battery capacity reaches 0%, the battery indicator will continue to blink in red and beep with a warning dialog that appears that the system will be shut down. In this instance, the system provides a safe system shutdown and will automatically save and end the exam. Restarting the system is only allowed once the system is reconnected to a power source. When I'm plugging the ackison venipede system from a power source, a message will display indicating the risk factors that should be avoided while operating on battery power alone. This includes scanning during a biopsy, stress, echo contrast, 3D4D volume imaging, intraoperative transesophageal, or endo cavity scanning. The standby feature is only allowed when the battery level is mid or above. If the battery is low or critical low, then standby will not be allowed. And a message will appear that the battery is too low to support standby. For easy touch elasticity imaging, the region of interest ROI indicator now displays the reference ref or mass measurement for better clarity and will also be displayed on the measurement display area or MDA. In the breast and thyroid applications, there are five strain ratio labeled measurements, one through 5. And the shadow function is now supported. Right and left mass one through 5 labels are stored in the report with both ROI reference, ROI mass and strain ratio displayed. To improve point Fairway consistency, a reference line now helps alignment to the liver capsule. When performing more than 20 point shear wave measurements, a message will display maximum valid measurements made. The biopsy indicator is now consistent with the Acuson Sequoia and Redwood ultrasound systems. That touch screen displays the selected angle, improving workflow and easy access to the desired angle. There is now quick access to turn off the biopsy guide. The biopsy label has changed to biopsy line and a numbering system for different biopsy angles. Neo visualization is improved with advanced easy, clear spatial compounding. This advanced steered compounding feature improves 2D mode image quality, the spec a reduction, and enhances tissue differentiation during a needle biopsy procedure. Electronic instruction for use or E IFU. Is an electronic manual now available on the system. Select the question mark on the touch screen and the manual will appear. The language of the manual will be the same language that is on the system. To search for topics, press control plus app on the manual keyboard and type in the desired search term.
