
Abdomen & Thorax Exam | Position Patient
This video demonstrates how to position a patient for an abdomen and thorax examination.

In this video you will learn how to position a patient for an abdomen and thorax examination before performing the examination, register the patient fill in the required data and select the program. To examine the abdomen and thorax you can use the contour L coil. For both cases, position the patient supine with their head toward the magnet, with the spine at the center of the table. Place the patient's head into the head cushion at the end of the table. Use suitable positioning AIDS to ensure comfort and that the body parts are not touching. Connect the coil to the socket. For the thorax examination, position the coil horizontally with the upper border of the coil at the height of the shoulder. For the abdomen examination, use same positioning centering the coil on the abdomen region. Always position the coil so that the coil cable does not touch the patient's head to secure the coil, use the Velcro belts attached to the table. Use the appropriate position aids to make the examination more comfortable for the patient. Check again that you have positioned the patient safely with no body parts touching. Then provide the headset and alarm ball for safety. Also check that all cables are safely lying on the table and not hanging loose. Use select and go. Auto positioning if not available. Enter ISO input manually. Finally, position the table into the Borat isocenter using the ISO center button and jog wheel.
