
4D workflow - Internal Target Volume (ITV) (USA)

In this video you will learn how to create the internal target volume short ITV and how to associate it with the image used for dose calculation. Please keep in mind that the user interface may differ slightly on different host systems. Load the patient into the application, then load as well the contoured 4D phases into the image area. Make sure that all phases have been contoured. You can check this by pressing the play button. To watch. The movie. The ITV is the overlap of all contoured phases loaded in the image area. Load the series used for dose calculation into the image area. In our example we use average CT Use the right mouse button to drag and drop it into the image area. Then click Add to add the. Series Right click on Anatomy and Targets to open the context menu. Select Create ITV the. Create ITV window opens. All phases are automatically selected. If necessary, deselect any phases you don't want to include in the ITV now. Associate. The ITV with the series used for dose calculation. In our example this is Average CT Open the drop down, select the average CT and click OK to accept it. The ITV confirmation window opens. By selecting create New you will create a new structure in the list. If you. Select Overwrite. The system will overwrite the existing structure. A new structure has been added to the list and the ITV structure is. Available now. You need to change the series for contouring to continue working on the image used for dose calculation to. Change the series for contouring. Right click in the Average CT image segment. The context menu opens. Select Set as. Contouring series. The yellow frame switches to the. Average CT. All objects will now be saved on the average CT Change the windowing to the lung window in the lower right hand context menu under CT Presets Lung.
