The scope of applications comprises, for example: Visualizing coronary arteries, depicting complex thorax anatomies, characterizing scar tissue of cardiomyopathies, and guidance for electrophysiology procedures with pre- and postinterventional imaging of myocardial lesions. Select the tab arrows for more information on what is new. 04_a_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_features_automatecardiac With AutoMate Cardiac, the level of automation in cardiac examinations is increased while also supporting the clinical routine for WholeHeart Pro scans. AutoMate Cardiac provides tools for: * automatic positioning and slice planning, * for automatic detection of the optimum TI, * and for automatic detection of resting phases within the cardiac cycle. 04_b_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_features_inav With iNav, a new navigator technique has been introduced for 3D whole-heart examinations. Image-based navigation uses low-resolution images acquired every heartbeat to identify the position of the heart during various respiratory phases. The navigator is automatically positioned by Auto Positioning. With iNav, the acquisition efficiency is 100%, because data acquired during all respiratory phases can be used for image reconstruction. This results in a predictable scan time per protocol, which is typically shorter than the scan time of protocols that use other navigator techniques. Please note that for technical reasons, orientation restrictions apply when iNav is used. 04_c_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_features_vc-caspr A new acceleration mode with non-rigid motion correction is introduced and utilized by WholeHeart Pro protocols. It provides high overall undersampling factors and enables artifact-free respiratory images. 04_d_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_features_beat_wholeheart For WholeHeart Pro examinations, a new sequence is available. BEAT_WholeHeart can be used for morphological imaging, coronary artery imaging, and tissue characterization, all of which are performed in free-breathing and with cardiac triggering. BEAT_WholeHeart is a 3D-only sequence for T2 prep angio and IR prep LGE. It supports planned Dixon imaging for robust fat and water separation, improving vizualization of the coronary arteries. The sequence utilizes the dedicated sampling and reconstruction scheme VD-CASPR and supports acquisition of an image navigator (iNav). 04_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_features A new Parameter view is available during the acquisition of WholeHeart Pro protocols. For the sake of clarity, only the parameters essential to 3D whole-heart imaging are shown. Parameter view For enhanced usability, a new Parameter view is available for WholeHeart Pro protocols. The information in this view is reduced to the essential measurement parameters. Please note: The Parameter view is only available for protocols that are enhanced by AutoMate Cardiac. BEAT_WholeHeart The new BEAT_WholeHeart sequence for TrueFISP and GRE imaging is a derivative of the BEAT sequence. It supports: 3D dimension only T2 preparation-angio IR preparation-LGE Dixon imaging Image navigation (iNav) VD-CASPR acceleration VD-CASPR For WholeHeart Pro examinations, the new acceleration mode VD-CASPR with non-rigid motion correction is available. It uses an incoherent Cartesian sampling pattern called Variable Density Cartesian Acquisition with Spiral Profile order (VD-CASPR). The acceleration mode is utilized by the BEAT_WholeHeart sequence. Image navigator (iNav) WholeHeart Pro examinations use a low-resolution 2D image acquired every heartbeat for image navigation (iNav). The navigator is automatically positioned by Auto Positioning. Using iNav results in predictable, shorter scan times. Please note: TrueFISP protocols that use iNav can only be performed in coronal orientation. GRE protocols with iNav can be performed both in transverse and coronal orientation. AutoMate Cardiac AutoMate Cardiac provides AI-based workflow support for CMR imaging. It comprises the following components: Auto Resting Phase Automatic detection of resting phases Auto Positioning Automatic positioning and slice planning Auto TI Automatic detection of the optimum TI ? WholeHeart Pro acquisition WholeHeart Pro acquisition Audio file name: 06_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_video_voiceover Voice over for video: Planning a WholeHeart Pro examination is simplified by AutoMate Cardiac. The measurement uses the automatically detected resting phases in the region of interest of a previous cine acquisition. As soon as the WholeHeart Pro measurement is started, the image navigator is displayed in the lower-right corner of the screen. Hints and tricks General T2 prep imaging LGE imaging Localizers on which WholeHeart Pro is planned should be acquired in free-breathing. If severe ECG trigger problems occur, Beat Sensor triggering can be used as an alternative. The cine series for Auto Resting Phase detection must use the same trigger method as the Whole Heart Pro protocol. To avoid artifacts, do not change the phase-encoding direction to A>>P. To avoid artifacts, ensure that the Coil focus mode is Center and not Flat. ? ? Hints and tricks Audio file name: 07_3dwholeheartpro_WBT_hints-and-tricks With WholeHeart Pro, the need of manual intervention into measurements is reduced. Protocols can be used as they are without the need to configure them further. Please read the hints and tricks to gain some expert knowledge on WholeHeart Pro examinations. Hints and tricks General T2 prep imaging LGE imaging ? Use a double dose of contrast agent for robust LGE image quality. The time between contrast agent injection and the start of WholeHeart Pro LGE measurement should be around 10 min (not longer than 15 min). As Dixon contrast and fat-water separation is used, the long TI leads to a very high signal of chest fat in the opposed phase reconstruction, causing artifacts. Use a TI Scout with Trigger Pulse 1. The Compressed Sensing protocol is recommended which requires a license. ? Hints and tricks General T2 prep imaging LGE imaging ? Application of contrast agent before whole-heart T2 prep acquisition improves the image quality. The T2 prep step can, for example, be acquired in the interval between contrast agent application and LGE imaging. Use Tune-Up as set up in the protocol instead of B0 Shim Cardiac for T2 prep WholeHeart Pro.
